New Rig For XSI v7.0

Hi guys,
Over the last week or so i have been working on a simple rig as a practice run for when i start second year of university in a couple of weeks time. This rig has finally been completed and is here for all to download and enjoy :)

The rig has simple controls: hand and foot controls, hips and chest/shoulders and up vectors for the knees and elbows. There's a main control which the hip, chest and hand controls are attached to and a global SRT which controls the entire rig.

Just a note, this rig was made in version 7 of XSI so won't work in any versions lower than that but will work in later versions.

As i mentioned this is my first attempt at rigging so there's bound to some small issues that need to be worked out that i have overlooked so if you come across anything that looks like a glitch please let me know and I'll figure out how to fix it then post the updated rig.

heya time for some more writing :) im gonna try and keep this one a bit short so sorry for lack of details

since my last post ive been to colchester with mam, brother and grandparents (dad stayed at home to keep an eye on the business)

anyways, colchester.

the cottage was gorgeous on the outside and cramped on the inside. as in i could rest my head on the ceiling beams when i went on tiptoes :S

there were horses in the field behind our garden so i went over to pet them, not realizing there was an electric wire on the other side along the top beam of the fence and i fried my elbow :( not horribly at the time i thought but now it seems to have come up in a lump

right, so, colchester zoo was good, bit hilly but really interesting

sandringham house was also really interesting. there was the house and gardens (both huuuuge) and a little chapel and there was a plant shop, gift shop and a little icecream parlor. there was also a huge filed where people were playing with their dogs

kentwell house would have been better if we went on an activity day. as it was we walked round half the house (the rest is private as the family still live there) ad the gardens and they have a gorgeous walled garden with fruit trees and herbs and a veggie patch. the only thing is the produce wasnt getting used so there were wasps about getting the fallen fruit.

we went to colchester centre but went on a city sightseeing tour instead of walking around which is probs just as well cos there wasnt much in town that we could see and at least the tour took us round the old military bits with the barracks and stuff

next day was a trip to norwich and OMG it was awesome. it reminded me so much of york, just with different shops and its awesome. i could spend a day just getting lost in all the little side streets with their funky little shops never mind goin to all the different museums and the cathedral and other places of interest and i could easily spend a fortune there, i love little nick nack shops and theres loads of them everywhere :) anyways can ya tell this was the best day?

africa alive was another cool zoo with all giraffes and lions and rhinos and the such. was fun cos me and my brother did a little quiz thing which meant we got to see everything while looking for clues to fill in our sheet and there was an african tribe there doing dances which was cool to see

that night we packed our bags to come home.

when we got home i got my bags unpacked and ash's mam picked me up with ash and dropped us off at asda. we had fun wondering round looking for snacks to take to the pics with us and at one point he even had me skipping up the aisle with him :) unlike last time i came back from a holiday and was a bit rushed and stressy, this time was great we had a good laugh and it felt good to be back together again and then we went to see the taking of pelham 123 which was way better than i thought it would be, then we wondered slowly back to mine. while i was away the carny had been on and neither of us realized so ash went out and got me a nintendog plushie that makes different noises when ya push his ear cos he couldnt win me one on the shooting game :) it was so thoughtful and cute of him :) while i was away i picked up a monkey toy for him and a keyring which there are 2 of, ones a black doll with red accesories and the other ones a red doll with black accesories and we have one each like those broken heart ones where each has half a heart and theyre adorable :)
and he didnt know but i got him a ring which he had his eye on for a while and i kept having to tell him not to get it otherwise it would have spoilt the surprise and he loved it and thankfully it fit perfectly which was what i was most worried about cos it took me a month to finally get it in his size and woud have been a nightmare if i had to change it so that was brilliant

dorset

hey everyone,
just got back from dorset on saturday and its been a really busy week :)
So lets start from friday 24th me and ash went to newcastle for the afternoon to do some shopping, ash found me some gorgeous tops at jane norman and he got a nice belt as well. It was good to get out of the house for a bit and spend some time together wandering around and we both had a great time together before i went away.

Saturday we drove to dorset with me, mam and dad taking turns to drive. it took us about 6 hours to get there but we still had time to do some food shopping and chill with the people who run the cottages where we stayed.

Sunday we went to the Fleet Air Arm museum where they had planes and helicopters from the wars and a concorde and stuff

Monday we went to wookie hole which was cool, they had an old penny arcade, circus trailers with two headed lambs and mermaids and other stuff like that then we went over to cheddar gorge for some last minute shopping. we had a barbie for tea and dad burned the sausages

Tuesday was theBeaulie motor museum which was awesome we saw loads of classic cars and scooters and bikes and there was a tent with cars from the bond movies and there was a top gear area which was just so uber cool, then we went over to bournemouth for the arcades and then we saw stonehenge. it was a bit dark by then but the pics are still cool. hopefully when i sort out my blog i can have a separate area for pics and ill put them up then.

Wednesday we went back to cheddar gorge to finish looking round the shops then went to weston super mare to see what was there and do a bit of shopping.

Thursday was mam and dads 26th wedding anniversary and we went to London for the day. we started at covent gardens then went to oxford street, trafagar square, victoria station so i could get some sushi from wasabi then finished at Buckingham Palace. there was a lot of walking involved and everyones feet ached after but it was a great day out.

Friday we went to Lulworth castle where there was a medieval faire on with jousting and fire juggling and there was also a petting zoo and a jewellery stall. after that we went to lulworth coves and i climbed up the side of a cliff then we found durdle door which is an archway of stone coming out the side of a cliff into the sea and looks stunning, the water is so clear and blue you wouldnt think it was britain.

Saturday we came back home again taking turns to drive back. I ended up driving for 2 hours in the rain along the motorway.

when i got back home my boyfriend asked if i wanted to go to the pics to watch ge-force 3d with him. i hadnt seen him all week so was looking forward to seeing him and being able to spend some time with him. id only been back home an hour so was a bit tired when we met at the pics so i wasnt all smiley which i thought was what upset him a bit but once i got settled in the pics with him i was alright again i just needed time to get my bearings again, i talked to him today and he said its something else but i dont need to worry (ill try, i just dont want it to happen again but i dont know what it is) but anyway. The film was awesome and the 3d effects that are being used now are so much better and are getting better all the time.

yesterday i went to his house to see him and bring over some gifts id picked up for him and his family while id been away which i hope they like and his mam gave me some birthday cake from his sisters 18th which was on friday which was really nice of her and the cake was lovely :)

im away to colchester on friday so hopefully ill get to see him again before i go away and hopefully when i get back ill be in a better state and not have a recurrence of the other day because i always miss him like mad when were away from each other even for just short periods of time and i love seeing him and i dont like thinking i did something to upset him cos i love him and i like making him happy.

anyways hopefully ill also get some sort of work done as well before i go :P

really late post

its been a really busy year so far with lots of stuff happening.
I finished my first year at uni, passing all my modules :) next year as well as 2D and 3D animation ill also be doing a special effects module so that should be interesting.

My boyfriend and i celebrated our 2 year anniversary of the relationship with a trip to London. it was a great day out, seeing all the sights such as Buckingham Palace, the London eye, the Towers of London and various museums. We also stopped at Yo Sushi! for lunch as we both love sushi. Some squirrels in the park came right up to us so close we could pet them which was awesome as well. All in all it was a brilliant day out and i hope we can do something like that again soon. Once i get myself sorted i'll be posting pictures up as well.

I've also been to Nice for a few days with my oldest friend which was good as well. The food over there was amazing and temperatures were about 36 degrees c at lunchtime.

There's an online course i enrolled on,it's called the Guardian Training Program and it's a three month course that looks at the 12 principles of animation and there's also lots of good advice on how to look after your body and mind while you work so i've been busy with that lately as well.

Thats pretty much the main things that have been going on so far and theres lots i've missed out that ill hopefully be able to put in other posts. Until then im on holiday again tomorrow to Dorset and the week after i get back im away again to Colchester.

the 3d work is what ive been doing in my own time, the 2d stuff is work ive been doing in animation principles as part of my course.

it would be great if i could get some feedback on these. It would help me understand how i could improve my skills and ill leave feedback for other people, though i doubt i'd know what i was talking about but there ya go :)

i'm gonna try and keep on top of this now that i've got it sussed so ill be posting up wips n stuff now hopefully :)

YO! Sushi

Heya everyone

In about a week's time will be the boyfriends birthday unfortunately with all the work going on at the mo we don't know what's going to happen so for a treat i took him out for a meal. We went to Newcastle to Yo Sushi and it's brilliant.
The food is served in coloured bowls on a conveyor belt and you just pick up the dishes you like the look of. The colours are for different prices and the bill gets tottted up by counting how many of which coloured bowls you've used. The food was well presented and tasted lovely and fresh :)
Ash loved it so it was worth going just to see him all happy with his birthday present :)
will deffo go there again sometime and i'd recommend it to anyone who likes sushi. check out the website: www.yosushi.com to see if theres one near you.

heya everyone.
been a good day today, got help with photoshop and started to actually get somewhere with it. still go a way to go though.

i'm going to go over my 2d work in ink and run it though the software again then convert the files so i can possibly put a short showreel together of the work i've been doing in time for animex. it's gonna be close though :S

Anyways back to perspective drawing of my front room :P When i convert my files into avi files they'll be posted up. hopefully by the end of the week :)

Well, looks like everyone is back at uni to start a nice, fresh term :P

I've got five ICA's to do by May but I'm sure I'll manage :)

If anyone knows a good site that helps with scriptwriting it would help me a load and it would be greatly appreciated

Hey everybody, I'll be doing two posts tonight :)

Had a lovely Christmas with my family and i got to spend some time with my boyfriend who took me to the pics a couple of times to see Madagascar 2 and The Spirit, both good films :)

Ash treated me to a Wokstop meal yesterday which was really nice and we snuggled up to watch Michael McKintyre who's a good stand up comedian while we ate our food. It's nights like that that i really love, just cuddling up and relaxing together. I know I'm gonna get all soppy here but i really do love him with all my heart xxxxxxxxx He knows how to make me feel like the most special, loved girl in the whole, wide world and I can only hope that i make him feel as special and loved because he really is xxxxx

Birthday cake

my gorgeous boyfriend surprised me last week :)
i didn't get a birthday cake this year and i was a bit disappointed so while i was at mine he went to the shops and got me a cake (it was only a sainsburys basics cheesecake but its the thought that counts) and he put tealights all over his bedroom and put music on so when i got back we ate cheesecake then watched alien vs predator. he's so sweet and romantic *sigh* i love him to bits

Anyways we're off to the pics tomorrow to see madagascar 2 so should be fun.

Yay Holidays

I can't believe it's Christmas in like 2 days OMG it's come round fast again this year.
I got my gorgeous boyfriend back today, he's been to Liverpool with his mate all weekend but he's all mine again now :)

Hopefully when i figure out how, i'll start getting some of my bits of work on here but until then i'll just say it's goin alright so far i think, i've still got the script to finish though :(

Professional Studies

FINALLY i've got my essay done for professional studies. Time to relax for the holidays :)
sort of. still got a script to write and some animation to do but it's all good, no worries.
Hopefully i'll be able to spend more time with my gorgeous boyfriend as well :)

My first post

Hey there! Well this is my first post hopefully of many. This is where I'll be putting up wip's, rants and other bits and pieces as and when I have time between work for my first year in creative visualization and spending time with my wonderful boyfriend who I love soooooo much :)

So far this term's been ok, we've drawn 2D walk cycles and used softimage and 3DS max to create models that go towards our ICA's. Unfortunately I also have professional studies in which I have to write an essay on the games age rating systems and the data protection act which has to be handed in next Friday at the latest.

Anyway, I'll try and keep this page up to date so until next time, bye bye for now x
